Who, When, Where, & Why

Hi! This is a quick debrief of who we are, what we do, and why we do it.

Who: Currently “we” are a group of 1, but I’m hoping that if you’re reading this, you’ll join me! I am a senior who goes to school in Albany, Oregon but lives in Salem.

Anyone of any age is welcome to join, especially students wanting to make their voice heard about climate change.

When: Every Friday, 10AM-12PM. Rain or shine so make sure to check the weather as to what to wear/bring!

Where: The Salem Capitol building main steps, and if told to leave there, the park in front of the building or a sidewalk next to it.

Why: To urge the state of Oregon to take meaningful, bound-by-law, action on climate change. To educate the citizens of Oregon about the climate crisis and issue a call to action to make impactful personal changes.

Our Demands

Binding legislation and programs to reduce CO2 emissions to limit the global average temperature at 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

Binding legislation making a 100% change to clean renewable energy by 2035.

Binding legislation banning the sale and registration of petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030.

Investment in a strong network of EV charging stations across the state.
